What Is Analytical Paranormal Investigation?
Groups or individuals who are engaged in analytical research conduct investigations and devise studies which explore and evaluate claims. Unlike strict scientific or technical research, analytical research relies heavily on substantial and compelling data to suggest a possible conclusion rather than producing something that can be tested or carried out in a laboratory setting. Because of that, analytical research is most helpful as the approach to take when examining claims of paranormal activity. There is significant data regarding paranormal activity that, when closely examined, seems to support the existence of such phenomena whether explainable by scientific principals or not. Equally, proper analytical research can find explanations for events that may seem paranormal in nature, but actually have rational causes when closely examined.
How Many Members Does SGRA Have?
There are many types of members that are part of our organization. We have hundreds of participants in our organization who are not necessarily paying members, but take part in our group through our website, online seminars, and many other ways. We do have paid membership levels in our group, to which we have over 150 people worldwide. Members of our organization are encouraged to be as active as they wish. Many choose to attend most of our events when they are able, while others keep updated through our newsletter and members announcements.
What Are The Official Priorities of the SGRA?
Our primary goal is to provide ways of educating the public and raising the awareness of paranormal events and the legitimate research being conducted into proving that these phenomena are real. If you’d like to know more, we welcome you to visit our Mission Statement page.
How Is The SGRA Funded?
We are a registered 501(c)3 Nonprofit organization, and are funded entirely through the contributions of our membership, sales of fundraising items at our events, and donations and grants for the work we do.
Do You Charge For Investigations?
SGRA does not now, nor will it ever, charge for its investigative services. We feel it is not right to charge for what we do because often times we can identify a non-paranormal cause for claimed activity, or we may conduct an investigation and find nothing at all. We take great pride in the work that we do, and when we identify what we believe to be existent paranormal activity, we find great satisfaction in our conclusion.
Are My Experiences Kept Confidential?
Any information you choose to share with us concerning an experience you had will not be shared with anyone other than authorized SGRA staff. We never publicize experiences without written permission, and if we do receive permission, your name and information are never published. Can I Attend Events Even If I Am Not A Member?
Yes! Most of our events are open to anyone, whether you are a member or not. Members receive special discounts on classes, lectures, meetings, and other events that have a cost to them, but we try to hold many of our events free of charge.
