One of he most important parts of the work we conduct here at SGRA is our community outreach programs which aim to inform and educate the public on the history and research of paranormal phenomena, as well as on the scientific approaches and differences between what is depicted on television and in movies and what is actually done by legitimate investigators. In the early years, SGRA meetings and events almost all took place at libraries throughout Connecticut, and so our commitment to giving back to these great groups has always been a strong part of our work.
We offer outreach events to after-school programs, museums, community centers, camps, scout groups, libraries, school, and even town-sponsored events such as festivals. Our events are available to organizations within Connecticut, and cost no more than $150.00 for a program (the cost depends on travel distance and materials required). All programs, whether small or large, are hosted by members of the SGRA Staff who will always be on hand to answer audience questions, provide hands-on demonstrations, and more.
We provide libraries with several types of events as part of our Public Outreach, from interactive presentations to all-day “traveling exhibits.” Our outreach programs offer numerous types of formats, topics, and activities which are all customizable to each library’s requirements. Each of our programs is also unique, so no two programs – even if they are repeated at a library – are ever the same! Any of our programs are adaptable for mixed age groups, audience and space sizes, timing, and more. At every event we will set up a demonstration table that provides participants with a chance to get hands-on with the actual equipment that our team uses, in addition to photos and materials from our investigation archives.
