For the past 10-­‐15 years a reoccurring theme has taken place up above in
the heavens. Our once beautiful skyline of baby blue hue, and white puffy cumulus clouds have now been littered with hazy white scattered “vapor-­‐like” streaks. I myself started noticing these odd chemtrails as they’ve been labeled, not too long after the 9/11 attacks back in 2001. What struck me the most was how these trails would be crisscrossed in many different odd patterns and positions directly over New York City, where I was residing at the time. I also thought it was strange that the trails never dissipated after being sprayed out into the atmosphere by the white unmarked airplane tankers. So we ask, who is sponsoring this strange activity and what exactly is the motive behind it? Many conspiracy theorists have jumped to the conclusion that many of the world’s progressive nations, which includes the United States are on a world wide campaign to sicken its citizens with toxic chemicals being dumped on us around the clock daily.

If true, the next obvious question would be why the heck are they conducting this type of criminal behavior? Is it an incognito form of population control, or just a non-­‐evasive way to assist us in our never ending pursuit of climate control? It’s only been within the last few years that government funded groups such as The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and The United Nations have admitted under extreme pressure that these sprayings are really happening, and that the particles being emitted are not the normal con trails we’re used to seeing from jets soaring high above us everyday. Their politically correct excuse is that the chemtrail sprayings are being done in order to save the country and planet from the devastating effects of global warming. This all sounds very noble and patriotic, but when the carrot laced with a few “Benjamins”dangles in front of the greedy minded, they will say whatever it takes to sound authentic and genuine. Unfortunately, a sad but true reality in this day and age of corruption and deceit.

The term chemtrail refers to aerial trails caused by systematic high altitude release of chemical substances or heavy metals (strontium, barium and aluminum) not found in ordinary con trails, resulting in the appearance of characteristic sky tracks. Theories also lead to the high concentration of people suffering from upper respiratory illnesses and other health problems. I paraphrased this straight out of Wikipedia’s written definition. I find it very convincing and somewhat peculiar how something that has gone for years “swept under the rug” with denial, is now rearing its ugly head with proof that this does in fact exist. I am not too sure if I personally have been affected by the trails on a physical level, but I do know that my sinus attacks and continual post nasal drip episodes have escalated over the past decade or so. Is it due to the high concentration of chemtrail sprayings? That much I cannot determine as of yet, but my body does tell me by the way it reacts that something is not right with our air quality .

In October of 2012, Swedish Green Party leader Pernilla Hagberg went on record stating that the unusual cloud trails which fail to dissipate like normal contrails do,

are actually a toxic mix of chemicals, viruses and metals. She claims that the sprayings are a joint endeavor U.S. Central Intelligence Agency and the U.S. National Security Agency, as well as the Swedish government in her own country, to modify atmospheric conditions via deliberate aerosol spraying efforts. I commend Ms. Hagberg for taking an honest stance blowing the whistle on what seems to be a very serious global issue. As I am slowly but surely tending to sway more toward believing in this cover up, I wish to share a chemtrail experience I had a few years ago while being on the road.

I travel quite a bit as a professional musician and visit many places around the country, and see a lot of things from day to day. On one specific occasion I had to pinch myself a few times to make sure I was seeing this clearly. We were up in Albany New York taking a break from sound check outside on a beautiful autumn afternoon. The sky was picture perfect blue, not a cloud in sight anywhere. I am always looking up in the skies hoping to catch a glimpse of something “out of the ordinary” or “out of this world”. The paranormal geek in me never settles until I witness something or have some sort of an encounter that I cannot explain, welcome to my life since I can remember walking.Anyway, as I am staring up at the sky I see a white jet dumping something from behind it, my initial reaction was it’s a chemtrail plane, which could very well be ruled as yes. I had my binoculars handy (I always have them with me when I am outside, just in case…) and focused on the plane and noticed that it had no apparent markings or other color schemes on it. For about 2 minutes I was able to follow its flight trajectory when all of a sudden, woosh it totally vanished from eyesight and the trail just hovered where it was left all alone lingering.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, or what I once saw, and had to scratch my head in disbelief. My friends who were standing close by me never even noticed anything until I brought out the binoculars. They laughed hysterically that I was up to my old tricks of seeing something in the sky, as usual. I know what I saw, and this plane had some sort of a cloaking device that made it able to vanish right before my eyes. I have read numerous accounts of witnesses claiming to see planes disappear and then reappear while spraying the skies. I was skeptical until this sighting occurred, now things have started coming together piece by piece as this puzzle gets closer to being solved. So, are these chemtrails really a government conspiracy to regulate population numbers, or are they in fact here to help us moderate and protect us from the slow decay of our depleting ozone? You be the judge, I truly believe the truth is at our fingertips.

Over the last few months there has been an unusually high increase in UFO sightings taking place in the Northeastern U.S. This has included significant sightings by multiple witnesses in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and even to states outside of the Northeast like New York, New Jersey, and Maryland. Sightings have ranged from several “glowing orbs” at one time, to triangular-shaped craft estimated to be the side of a commercial airliner, to even larger craft. There have even been some interesting consistencies within these reports, including a lack of any objects appearing on local Air Traffic radar.

These recent UFO sightings will be the topic of upcoming discussions in person and online here at SGRA in the coming week. It begins tomorrow with our Wednesday Coffee Talk from 7pm – 9pm in West Haven, then Saturday at our Third-Saturday Month Meeting (also in West Haven) from 12pm – 4pm, and finally wrapping up with an online discussion open to everyone here on our website Sunday evening from 8pm – 10pm. During each of these talks we will be sharing details about the most recent sightings which have taken place over the last three months, as well as highlight other similar sightings in our area as well as across the country. We will also be presenting some of the theories our investigators are presently looking into, which includes the possibility that these craft may in fact be Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, also known as “drones,” which are known to be flying in domestic airspace and have been undergoing research and testing in areas where these UFO sightings have originated.

SGRA has – and always will – encourage people to ask questions and seek answers they feel they deserve, even in the wake of terrible events like this. There are many theories circulating, most of which are simply disgusting and misguided, but some of which do merit closer consideration. With that said the search for answers must always take place with a necessary respect of the need to balance a public’s right to know with individuals rights to grieve. From an outsider’s perspective it is easy for many to theorize and speculate, but that task is not as simple when the connections, proximity, and time are so close to you. There are issues which the public certainly deserves clarification on, but the public is the last in a long line (which includes the family members, parents of Sandy Hook students, and direct relatives) to be informed, and that chain must be respected.

One of the first things we teach anyone involved in SGRA is that without proper investigation, initial judgment and conclusions are unreliable at best. This lesson applies to an issue as serious as this, and so the same approach must be taken. There are things that do stand out about this. There are questions which must be addressed. And there is a lot of misinformation happening on both the official sides. Asking questions and demanding answers is good, but proper investigations take time and that must be understood. Despite what people sitting behind a computer screen or microphone may think, three weeks is not enough time to conduct an investigation of this magnitude. The fact that this is taking time is not conspiracy. It is not government suppression of information. It is the way things must happen in order for facts to be developed and answers to be provided.

Finally, it is the decision of SGRA as of now not to pursue our own research into this event. This does not mean we are ignoring or that at some point we may not take time to consider the questions, but for now this event is simply too recent and too close for us to be involved with. To those who have sent the criticizing emails, this is our choice and this is how it will stand. If it bothers you that we have chosen not to be involved in this, so be it, but we will not respond to any further messages about this event.

Through 2012 we were gave more library programs and more outreach programs, hosted the very first “Exploring Unsolved Mysteries” Continuing Education class in Litchfield. Conducted more Field Investigations. and filed more Case Reports. And it has been interesting to note that the type of person being drawn into our group has changed as well. Entering 2013 we have numerous events already lined up, and more in the works as well. This includes another series of our Unsolved Mysteries class, visits back to several libraries, and more public outreach events in the spring and summer.

Another aspect we have been focusing on quite a bit here in the closing months of 2012 has been expanding our online activities. We’ve brought back our popular ParaChat, which has proven to be a fun Sunday evening activity for many and has sparked some wonderful discussions. We’ve revamped our Message Boards which has been a way for even more people to jump in on conversations and share stories. And in 2013 we intend to continue to expand these features as well as add new ones, including audio podcasts, video chats, and even online presentations and workshops for those who can’t make it in person due to time or distance.

We have a week of holiday happenings coming up here at SGRA, from Tuesday’s “Christmas Folklore and Origins” program in Woodbridge to Sunday’s “Holiday Traditions” ParaChat on our website! All of these events are open to everyone, so be sure to join us for some much-needed holiday cheer. Here’s the scoop:

Tuesday @ 7:00pm we’ll be presenting Christmas Legends: The Folklore and Origins of Today’s Traditions 10 Newton Road, Woodbridge, CT (click for map). This program will explore some holiday mysteries, including decorate a tree, where colors of Christmas came from, and perhaps most important of all, are all of Santa’s reindeer really female? This event is free and open to everyone!

Wednesday @ 7pm we’ll be presenting our annual “Holiday Legends” Coffee Talk at our West Haven Meeting Spot, 445 Front Avenue, West Haven (click for map). We’ll explore the origins, legends, and traditions behind Christmas, Hanukkah, Yule, the Solstice, and many others as well. Can you pass our Holiday Origins Trivia? If you can, you could win a special gift! This is a great opportunity for everyone to learn about other traditions, holidays, and beliefs (something around this time of year we find there’s MANY people who need to learn that there are MANY holidays, not just one).

Friday evening is December 21st, the end of the world… ok, not exactly a “holiday theme” but we’re still hosting a fun party in West Haven (click for map) starting at 7:00pm and anyone who’d like to come enjoy some good times, conversation, friends, and food is welcome. We’ll be showing “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” as well, a movie that’s fitting for end of the world preparedness.

Zombie Apocalypse / Viral Outbreak

Yea, yea, laugh all you want. While movies like the Resident Evil series and TV shows like Walking Dead have forced zombies into the spotlight more than ever before, and the results are a little terrifying, there are some things to seriously consider. The concepts behind many zombie features do have some baring on reality, especially when it comes to the idea that a genetic mutation or engineered virus could be the cause of such an event. As was the case with Resident Evil, an event like this could easily begin by a disgruntled employee in one of hundreds of labs around the world involved in experimenting with strange and unseen viruses. And many of the same things that we do actually use in our lives for good, could also result in negative things. But, if there’s any question of how a zombie outbreak could really happen, just take a look at what happens when the power goes out in areas and there isn’t any online or cable TV. Yeesh, stay out of their way! And then there’s viruses… The Black Plague killed one European in four during the 14th century; influenza took at least 20 million lives between 1918 and 1919; the AIDS epidemic has produced a similar death toll and is still going strong. From 1980 to 1992, reports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, mortality from infectious disease in the United States rose 58 percent. The grimmest possibility would be the emergence of a strain that spreads so fast we are caught off guard or that resists all chemical means of control.

Earth Changes / Natural Disasters

The last few years have brought natural disasters to everyone’s attention, as no place has been immune to the effects.  It’s also clear that whether or not people want to admit it, our planet is changing and things are getting pretty hairy around here. The thing about natural disasters is that many of them, such as earthquakes, are undetectable until they happen. Others, like tornadoes, are ones that you can’t do much to get out of their way. And hurricanes… well, we’ve seen how unprepared those on the coastline are for them. With storms increasing in size and severity, there are larger and larger regions that are being devastated by them, and in some cases rebuilding is not an option. These disasters WILL be increasing, and when large portions of the world are effected by them, chaos will ensue, and the end of the world as we know it will come. What’s the worst part about this scenario? There’s not a thing we can do to stop it. Nature will do what it wants, when it wants, regardless of what we try to do to. And of course there’s the idea of “geoengineering��  that’s been taking place, basically what amounts to attempts (successes?) with weather manipulation. What could go wrong seems more obvious than what could go right.

Catastrophic Astronomical Event

This is another one we’re powerless to stop. Films like Armageddon and Deep Impact always end with humanity being spared, but let’s face the cold-hard-truth… we’re toast. That’s right, see ya, adios, bye bye. If an asteroid only 2 – 4 miles wide was set on a collision coarse with our planet we could do nothing more than sit there and watch. Sorry, there’s no secret space plan to send drillers up there, land on the asteroid, and blow it to hell. And the current plans that are actually “on the books” show little chance of really making a difference unless the asteroid is spotted YEARS ahead of time, which will likely not happen at all. And there’s another astronomical event we’re powerless to avoid… Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) also known as “solar flares.” These are enormous magnetic outbursts on the sun that speed towards our planet at a rate that makes the 93-million-mile journey to Earth in just three to four days. When the flare hits our planet we are bombarded with powerful electromagnetic force that can zap satellites out of the skies, destroy computer systems on the ground, knock out power, and more. And hardly any of these systems have any protection – simply turning them off won’t do the trick. Think about it… how much around you relies on computers to operate?  Transportation systems. Power systems. Aircraft systems. You get the picture. We’re not just talking blackout, we’re talking TOTAL BLACKOUT. And not only COULD it happen, but the peak time for these storms is right now… 2012… yup.

Engineering Disaster

Science today… boy, talk about the downfall of the world, it’s getting pretty mad out there. Technology is growing by leaps and bounds daily, but it’s not always a good thing. We’re toying around with things we don’t understand, looking to produce things we have no idea if we can control, or even what the result will be. From bigger bombs to crazy science experiments, this isn’t just mixing baking soda and vinegar anymore it’s mixing end of the world type stuff! About five years ago we decided to go on a kick of “let’s try to use a giant particle accelerator to fabricate a mini black hole,” and we’re still trying that. The problem is a) we have no idea what the result will be, b) we don’t know if we can properly control or contain a mini black hole, and c) we can’t do anything if we can’t manage to control it. Oh yea, it sounds like a GREAT idea! So maybe trying to create something that could consume the planet from within until there was nothing left isn’t such a grand idea. Nah, we’re going to give it a shot anyway!

The Rouge Terrorist Factor 

It’s not the ones you can see that are the worry, it’s the ones you CAN’T see. The Cold War is over, and the threat of nuclear war from Russia isn’t on the boards any more… but that doesn’t mean by far that nuclear annihilation isn’t a concern. In fact, despite all of that nuclear attack is even MORE of a concern. Not from another country, but from the “rouge terrorist factor.” This may not even be something as organized as  Al Qaeda, it could simply be a small group of a few people who get a hold of nuclear material. It’s what’s known as a “dirty bomb” and it scares the crap out of military and government officials even more than all-out nuclear war. Like the other Doomsday scenarios, there’s little we can do to actually stop this from happening. It’s not like someone needs to launch a missile at one of our cities, they simply need to get in a very small amount (less than about 5 pounds) of nuclear material. The fear-factor of a “dirty bomb” is that it doesn’t even need to be a large blast, but a small one in a major city will still be devastating.

December 21 is looming on the horizon, and History Channel seems to be running non-stop 2012 programs (few of which are really very accurate), and not a day goes by that we don’t receive at least 10 emails from people asking us if the end of the world is really coming. There’s a few important things to know about the entire 2012 mystery so that we can start getting the facts out there, and easing people’s minds a bit.

First off, the Mayans did not predict Doomsday and the end of all things on December 21, 2012. The hype surrounding that all relates to the idea that their calendar ends on that date, however most clams leave out the fact that the calendar is a cyclical (runs on a cycle) calendar. Meaning quite simply that the end of it is simply the beginning of a new cycle, not the end of everything entirely. Think of what we do each year on January 1st when we start our calendar over again – same idea, just a longer time frame! No where in the Mayan predictions was the idea of the end of the world suggested. It might also make you laugh to realize that no one knows for sure what the “end date” of the calendar actually is. Our concept of time is vastly different than it was for the Mayans, so our idea of the ending of the calendar could be off by as much as 100 years!

The Mayan / 2012 link is actually NEW, not old. That’s right! The earliest connection between the Mayans and the 2012 hype actually seems to have its origins in the 1960s when anthropologist Michael Coe published his book “The Maya.” So it’s all bunk, right? Um… not quite. You see December 21, 2012, does in fact coincide with a very rare astronomical event known as the conjunction of the sun with the center of the visible Milky Way galaxy, an alignment that would’ve been very important to the Mayans. But even this event would have been viewed by the Mayans as the beginning of a “new age,” the sun crossing from one side of the Sacred Tree to another, and not the end of all things. Ah, but wait…

There are some predictions that could be tagged as “Doomsday” claims, and that involves the fact that Mayans – and other cultures in fact – DID believe that the time around this great change would be filled with catastrophe and disasters. Other cultures such as the Hindus, Incas, Tibetans, ancient Hebrews, and others suggested that the world would be due for a massive transformation around now (though none use the specific date of December 21).

Now, to end (no pun intended) on a bit of a scientific note, there IS something to be said about the fact that things are changing, and scientifically we are seeing that more than ever before. Earth changes – increased natural disasters, changing weather patterns, unusual events worldwide – all of these things are in fact happening, and peaking around 2012. Even astronomical events involving the sun are said to be reaching an all-time high right around this time! Even scientist suggest that we are long overdue for a mass catastrophe here on our planet. From the dangers of a major earthquake, to an asteroid impact, we’ve been lucky so far, but how long will our luck last?

So there you have it, a brief overview of what’s really expected in 2012. So what do YOU believe is coming? Or not?

This Tuesday, December 4th, at 7:00 pm we will be presenting  a special program called “Hollywood and the Paranormal” at the East Lyme Public Library, 39 Society Rd. Niantic, CT (Click For A Map) which is free and open to the public. This presentation is part of our educational and community outreach events, the goal of which is to help separate the fact from fiction being paranormal events, in this case, show the differences between films and TV shows, and the reality of research and investigation.

There are many parts of Hollywood and the Paranormal that are sure to surprise people, but perhaps one of the most that interests audiences is how different films that claim to be “based on a true story” actually are from the occurrences that inspired them. In Hollywood, there’s a term called “creative license,” and that means that out of an entire movie based on an actual event, there may only be one or two small facts that remain the same – a name, a location, a time frame. Often times, however, that’s all there is. On the other hand, there are some famous films, like Steven Spielberg’s “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” which sought to cover the paranormal subjects the focused on in as close to a scientific-light as they could. In the case of that film, the production company had numerous individuals deeply involved with UFO research who were part of the advisers to the film.
