Is the red “orb” near the moon in this photograph an actual craft of some kind? A trick of light? A hoax? A misidentification?
What WASthe red object sighted near the moon on Sunday, July 29th? We simply do not know yet… but we’re looking into it!
It started early last week when we received an email from a witness in Woodbury who believed they observed a strange object in the sky on Sunday night, and was surprised to find an article posted on the Woodbury-Middlebury Patch website with a description of what they they saw as related by another resident of the town. It may sound like a bad pun, but when speaking to the witness they said how relived they felt to learn they “are not alone.” Following this initial report, and after seeing the article, our team jumped into action and began trying to spread the word that we were on the hunt for information. Thanks again to the Woodbury-Middlebury Patch and also to an article in the Litchfield County Times, information got out that we were looking for additional witneses, and we began getting details in. Those details surprised us!
As it turns out, Woodbury wasn’t the only town that may have been visited that Sunday. Witnesses in New Haven, Bethany, Milford, and most recently Monroe, have come forward claiming to have seen very similar objects. Everyone seems to be describing the same object — an “orb-like” objects, mostly appearing with a reddish light, and seeming to hover or move extremely slowly in the sky. Some witnesses watched the object for several minutes, even long enough to have others come and look at it, and three people (so far) have managed to snap pictures of the object. The clearest of these pictures came from a witness in New Haven (see photo at left) and is currently being enhanced and analyzed by our investigators.
As an open investigation we are still seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed this object on the evening of Sunday, July 29th, or other nights as well. Last night, 8/13/2012, around 10 pm in Branford, CT I saw a red light crossing the sky. It was moving slowly. I could faintly hear the sound of a helicopter. It was just a single red light, it did flash at one moment. After it past over me, I was barely able to see maybe 2 white lights directly behind it. If the helicopter was higher up, or there was any background noise, I wound not have been able to hear it. If it was foggy out, the light may have appeared bigger, and I would not have been able to see the other white lights. I’d make a fairly good guess that this is what the people have been seeing.
I sent the pic in that is shown here. The red light above the moon was NOT a helicopter. It didn’t move like one and it was gone within seconds. No noise either. Very eerily quiet night.
