Superstitions are defined as a beliefs in a conception that something can be caused by eerie and unnatural connection, but in today’s age we know these are all just silly ideas with nothing really to fear, right? OK, well, you keep telling yourself that, but let’s take a quick look around. Friday the 13th is probably the most famous superstition that makes us take notice, and you may not believe in any of the hype, but you’d be surprised how much we go through to avoid the unlucky 13. Next time you’re in the elevator of a tall city building, take a look at the numbers… most buildings skip a floor 13. Staying at a hotel for summer vacation? Try finding room 13. Taking a flight somewhere? See if you can book a seat on row 13. What you’ll find is that as much as we say we disbelieve, many places aren’t taking any chances. Whether it’s black cats, broken mirrors, or saying “God Bell You” when someone sneezes (yup, that’s a superstition too), we all have some superstitions that we subscribe to even without thinking.
So whether you believe in any superstitions, or you’d like to believe you don’t, we invite you to join us on Friday the 13th starting at 7:00pm here on the SGRA website as we open up our ParaChat live chatroom to the topic!
