July 10th marks four months since news of a “green whale-sized object” seen crashing into Bantam Lake in Litchfield County, CT, made the local news – and then immediately went viral on the Internet. And it was the morning of July 11th that our offices were called for comment, immediately after-which the SGRA Office lines lit up with calls from residents, reporters, and simply interested people from as far away as the U.K. And while we would love to be able to report that this unusual object was in fact a craft from another world in what would amount to a Roswell Incident here in our own state, we aren’t as lucky with this one.
Albeit somewhat reluctantly, we must say that the final (probably) word on the Bantam UFO is that this object was most-likely a meteor, and that chances of ever finding remains of that to make a full conclusion are extremely unlikely. Still the mystery lingers on, and even four months later we continue to get questioned at our public lectures, and receive emails through our website, from people wondering if there’s any new news to report. Since the mysterious incident SGRA has been in regular contact with Daniela Forte, editor of the Litchfield County Times providing updates about the ongoing investigation. She recently published a follow-up article which can be viewed on their website here. We have also published a summary of the incident and our investigation which can be viewed on our website at: Bantam Lake Investigation Update.
